Ok, so I've had this problem off and on for the longest time with my car since I've gotten it. I've had the starter tested numerous times but everytime they tell me its just fine. But every so often when I try to turn on the car it doesn't do anything, power comes on, no draw, just the humm of the fuel pump and the cd changer but no click, and the engine doesn't try to turn over.

A while back I had to replace all the electrical wiring and the alternator thanks to someone who messed up a jump start. So most of the wiring is new, the only thing I haven't replaced is the starter, and I'm thinking I should just bite the bullet and do that. The only other thing of note is that there is an aftermarket alarm system on the car, a cheapy 100w Amp with a big capacitor(sp) I think its 1 farad I am not 100% sure since it was all on the car when i got it.

If i give it some time (anywhere between 5 minutes to an hour) It'll start up again. This is the last real electrical demon in my car *knocks on wood* and I'd love to know if anyone has experienced this problem or has any suggestions to fixing it?

35,000 miles on the engine
2,000 miles on almost all the engine bay wiring harnesses aside from the headlight wiring harness
Only mods: AEM CAI and Magnaflow Exhaust
