i'm going in for my 60k and i think i have everything:

water pump
timing belt
tensioner pulley (i'm not gonna get the bracket)
udp (af/x)
fuel filter

i still dont have the camshaft oil seals... anyone know how much for this?

but are there any other seals or gaskets that are needed for the 60k maintenance?

btw up here in the bay area, the best prices i could find for labor are 300 in redwood city, 325 in menlo park, and 485 to 600 elsewhere, satan is around 800.

i dont know shit about the adjustable cam gears accept from what i've read on this board. it sounds like a good deal. modacar is selling them for $139, do i need two gears (one for intake and one for exhaust)? anyone know if its 139 for the set (if i do need 2 of them) or 139 each. is it worth it? for around a 5hp gain, it sounds like a deal especially for 139. and finally, since i'm going for the 60k maintenance thing, is this something that can be swapped out by the mechanic while they're in there.

*can i adjust the cam gears myself after they get installed or do they have to be adjusted at time of installation?


my car: gs, nt, at, mods:iceman cai, plugs and wires, gst exhaust, soon udp and maybe cam gears deppending on your feedback.

It is $139 per gear, and you will need two. If you’re going to do oil seals, I think you have to take the gears off to replace the oil seals, you might as well replace the stock gears with adjustable ones (assuming you want to spend the money on them). You can adjust the gears yourself, but most would recommend that when you do adjust them you do it on a dyno...so you can see the effects of the adjustments.

I know it is better to adjust the cam gears with a dyno. But my question is can you adjust the cam gears without taking off the timeing belt? What is involved in adjusting the cam gears?

To adjust the cam gears, you just loosen the three locking bolts, and turn the face of the gear. No, you don't need to take off the timing belt but you do need to leave the timing belt cover off so you can access them.

i see, this answers a lot of questions. i guess i'll buy them and hold on to them till i get some crower cams and install all that once i save up some mo money. (planning on going turbo as well) i'm doing the whole, saving up a hundred here, fifty there thing, eventually i'll have enough. say in like 40 years or so, HA!

anyone know of any more seals and gaskets i'll need to replace for 60k?
