114516, Is it time for a new PCM/ECM? Posted by tuner, Jul-31-08 01:12 PM
Well a few days ago my battery light came on but it did not affect anything on my car like volts, power etc. Yesterday I drove to work just fine but when I went outside to go to lunch It did not start it just cranked. Im getting a code 44 and 22. Any thoughts?

Ok well I think I narrowed it down to the alternator because of the symptoms it was having. Guess ill take it out and get it checked.

22 is engine coolant sensor voltage too low and 44 is battery temp sensor voltage out of range.
Id check both of those, harnesses, etc.
If not the other recommend fix for code 44 is replace PCM.

Is there a battery temp sensor? or is that inside the ECM?

Theres a shop on Ebay where you send them your VIN number and they send you a MOPAR updated ECU made specifically for your car for $200. Im planning on doing that.

Sweet thanks. I will do that and if that does not fix the problem at least I know I got rid of that issue. Is this it? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&item=120289755946

Yes, your ECM most likely took a crap. I had those same 22 & 44 codes. A new ECM fixed the problem.
Be sure to send your old one back to them or you won't get the lifetime warranty.
*edit: When I had this problem, my car died often for no reason but would always start right back up. Maybe my ECM wasn't completely dead yet and yours is done with causing the car to not start at all.

I looked through the seller's history and I saw a few other names that I recognized. good feedback all around
I'd buy it
