So ive got a bad oil leak in my engine with about110000 miles, so i picked up another engine to rebuild and swap in when i get some time. my car is a 97 and the engine is from a 99. I just need to know if both wiring harness are the same or if i need to switch over any sensors from my 97.

also, i bought the new engine for 250 with about 100000 miles on it, a newer tranny, wiring harness and two ecu's. the engine and tranny and one of the ecu's are good. The problem is that im not sure what year one of the ecu is from, or if it is a mtx or atx. Is there any way to check? thanks.

i believe there's a number on it that'll distinguish itself as ATX or MTX and the year too (i think). Terry might know more on this, pm him. his username is 'star turbo talon'. you will not be able to use a 99 ecu. pinouts are different from the 97

Swap your sensors from the old engine to the new engine. they are now exactly the same.

there are only very minor differences between the blocks themselves, usually 95 blocks having slight differences from the later years. otherwise the only thing they changed was a few of the sensor harness styles and you need to keep the sensors from your 97 block and put them on the 99 block
