114449, 2.4l Swap Info
Posted by tx2u, Dec-26-07 06:33 AM
I have read all the "seachable" threads on here pertaining to the 2.4L swap for my 99GS. I'm 100% sure on what all needs to be done. The question that I have is whether anyone has ever made a conversion kit for the swap that can be purchased; less the oil pan issue? Some of the threads talked about it but I couldn't find one that had a definite answer.

I don't believe there is a kit available and I doubt that there will ever be one.

You have to make the kit.

You'd think there would be one with all the people who have neons and eclipses with a 420a.

That's what I thought so it looks like I'll have to fabricate it up like everyone else.

On another note, where is everyone buying the SRT-4 pistons and rods from (besides ebay)? Do we have a site sponsor that I can support with my business? I've read of some peeps on here getting the set for under $200 or so but the dealership closest to my house wants over $100 for just 1 rod and piston..

I would love it if there was an actual kit out there to do a 2.4 liter swap so that we had the brackets and all already. That would be great. I imagine I would have 25% more power with the increased volume too thats an extra 50hp :)
