I've been working with the J&S guys regarding the safeguard..

The following features will be available soon on a version that will work with the 4cyl DIS ignition that we use.

On the onset of boost, the safeguard will force the tps voltage to 3.8V, making the computer drop out of closed loop operation.

It will have a seperate map voltage limiting capability, but he's gonna integrate it into the box for those with the pesky 96+ computers. I still recommend a mising link as the stock map sensor will break when exposed to boost over 14psi.

The safeguard should be able to trigger the coils with the use of a tach adapter *edit* you will need tach adapters..

Why doesn't the regular Ultra 2 channel unit one work?

I've been VERY interested at acquiring one of these myself. I just assumed that it would be able to be used for our platforms, however we would have to employ a universal knock sensor.

In any case, I just bought from ebay a knock sensor meter that I'm looking forward to playing with. It's an Anson Turbosystems device that allows you to calibrate the unit to your desired sensitivity to knock, with a LED indicator light, and also comes supplied with a knock sensor. At $60, I figured it was worth it. It'll hold me over until the J & S one can be figured out hopefully. I love the MANY features the Safeguard unit employs, most importantly the ability to retard timing according to actual knock.

Excellent! I'm wondering why we need tach adapters though? I thought the 2 channel unit will work on our igntions? Must be something funky with them :wary Either way, by using tach adapters, will the Safeguard be ablt to retard timing on a per cylinder basis?? Great work.

hey ask john why he didn't respond to my emails.
I tried to work with him to get the unit working in our cars and we met one time and then he never emailed me back, i sent him at least 3 emails following up. he never replied. oh well.
