What problems would I run into if I took the pistons, rods, etc from a 2.4 and tried to put them in our block? TIA!

They won't work from what I hear due to the relation to where the pin sits on the piston. This conversation has been discussed a great deal at neons.org.

I know the bores are the same size, but unfortunately, due to other differences they will not work in a 2.0 block. They will work in a turbo or non-turbo 2.4l block though.

I think I read, (this means I may be way off) that the 2.4 pistons in the 2.0 block would give a really low compression. It also could have been T2 pistons in the 2.4 that do this though.

Pretty much ends this discussion.

My views on the subject are this, if you are pulling the pistons out of the block, why put cast piece of shits back in so you can crack them again, just put some forged slugs and be done.

One last problem with this involves the rods, which are 1" (or so) longer. Also, they are designed to sit on a slightly larger journal. Rods won't work, and pistons won't work well.
