Florida weather has been cold lately (30-40's) tonight, so I've decided to do a little top speed run on an interstate coming home from work. I did manage to reach around 100-105, but the tach just hovered between 3500-4000 rpm's while flooring it. Is this normal on an AT??? Is this what you call 'fuel cut'??? I know we don't have a speed limiter like the 4G63 guys do, so what could it be. Thanks!!!

Hahahaha feel the wrath of our messed up AT's. I have gone 115 easy and sometimes it used to just not want to go over 100-105.

Keep overdrive off, and run 3rd gear past 110mph, then click it on. If you try to exceed 110mph in 4th gear it wont go, but it will in 3rd.

Yeah, how I did it was with the OD off when I was accelerating off the entrance ramp and hit OD on when I nearly redline 3rd gear. I guess when I was in 4th it just wouldn't budge anymore. Is it because of the tranny gearing (don't think so), the computer (be it the engine or tranny), or the fuel delivery system (injectors, pump, etc...)???? How will it react to the turbo if I can BARELY pass a 100??? GRRRRR......so much questions, sorry guys!!!!!

leave OD off to begin with. 3rd gear will pull to 120mph at redline, then hit OD on. if you leave OD on, itll shift into 4th around 105

dam, in my manual i redline 3rd at about 95

got my AT GS to about 130 at 5500

thats cus we have one more gear than the AT guys. the ratio is completely different (right?). hmm.. dont think ive ever redlined 3rd. how often do yall redline? i dont want any more tranny probs

I've read somewhere on this board, that even though AT's and MT's have different gear ratios, we have the same final drive ratio. Not sure though!!!!!

Ive done 120 in my 98 gs... 140 downhill then it gets scary
and the camaro ss was still burning my ass :( I need turbo.

Mine hits about 120 pretty easy. I dunno what's going on. Auto RS here.

I've got mine to 130 easy stock.. after i did the "hack air box" put in a K&N filter, and OBX muffler I top at 105 too.. I get over it sometimes and move on up.. then again i only run that fast on I-40 going thur NC... Lots of room.. and mostly flat.. nice place to top a car out. hehe..

I used to think mine topped 105. Then I realized the seat was back too far and I couldn't floor it all the way. I'm like 5'11" or maybe 6' even. Not very tall IMO. That was a long time ago. I laughed like hell when I realized that.
