since the EVO 7/8 are flipped like the 2gnt would it be possible. wiring, axles, motor mounts, and ECU changes noted. Any intelligent feedback?

with a good amount of money yes it is possible. Installing the Evo 7/8 engine into our body will be just as hard as installing the gst/x 4g63

You're at 2GNT.com in the advanced tuning forum. It's all intelligent. Probably the most tightly moderated forum here imo. I say get a SawzAll and a welder. Cut the front off the the DSM, then off the EVO. Swap. Done.

after you found and purchased the evo parts and spent the money to have it stuffed in the 2gnt in a manner to make it work you prolly coulda bought an entire evo. you'd be better off getting a GSX and buying an FTY motor to swap in. prolly have better luck swapping a lancer motor into a GSX then anything else non evo.

I know it's possible. Only reason no one will do it is because it's not worth the money. Those motors are too expensive. For the price you pay to get a stock Evo motor under your hood you can have a built/boosted 420a.

well considering that i've found one on ebay for 3500 including tranny and ecu and wiring harness, it'd just be the matter of getting some motor mounts to work along with converting the tranny to fwd instead of having a transfer case. it'd be something that no one else has done. if i still have my 2gnt i'd be doing it right now.

ive seen an evo8 motor in a civic eg hatch, im sure we can do it. and if your gunna do the swap might as well do it right and convert to AWD.

A more sensible way to go would be with just a 1g swap...That swap could be done with very easy opperation...the mounts are great ( you might have to do a little mount swaping and stuff but coming in and out of the honda scene that works pretty good...I have a 1992 Civic 4 door that I am about to but a 1g 4g63 swap in and it is incredible how things are seeming to work out...The timing side mount *BOLTS UP*....The Evo stuff would be waaay to exensive but it would be really bling bling...but the swap would be nice...but as I have noticed out of all the engines I have done ( B20,B18c5,4g63 hybrid, and the 420a) the 420a gets the biggest thumbs up, it is SO simple...little things on the 4g63 suck....like the complicated oil pump setup, the balance shafts, alll that...stick with the 420a if you can

The trouble is not that players have sex the night before a game. It's that they stay out all night looking for it.

good luck with that 1g swap. Its more trouble then its worth on a 2g nt. that one guy that posted about a 4g swap did it with a 1g. In the end it doesnt work. well not streetable.

yeah a 1g swap is a lot harder to do due to the fact that the mounts are completely opposite. you'd have to put new mounts in and a lot of other stuff to get it to work. i'd just say for the amount that you'd spend doing the 1g swap, you could have just bought a 1g. heheheheheh

the best way to go about this would be to get a evo 7 or 8 tranny ahve the bell housing removed and modified to fit a 420a block and have a custom clutch made up.

use the 2g gsx rear drivetrain.

this has been discussed before noone did it though.

im sure clutch dynamics of lansing michigan could aid in building the clutch now you just need the tranny a shop to cut the bell housings and weld them together. and figure out the shift linkages should be similar to a stock 2g 4g63 setup.

I like that idea. Use the block we already know works and just make it work with an AWD system.
