Is anyone producing these yet? I would like to get one for around $100 shipped or so, if anyone on here makes them.

My 2.0 spun some rod bearings, so I have been heavily considering doing the 2.4 swap. I have read and read and read on it, but I would like for you guys to look over what I know so far, and give me any advise that you would fill helpful or anything that I would be missing or left out.

2.4 block
--------
rotate cam magnet 180 deg.
switch 1 and 3 coil wires
switch 1/2 2/3 3/4 4/1 on injectors
flip cam gears around to 2.4 side
rotate n/a pistons 180 deg.
notch the hood out to clear the head
notch the 2.4 oil pan to let the downpipe clear
get custom made PS motor mount
get 2.4 timing belt (do I need any other timing accessories)
lengthened downpipe

I am still kinda unclear as to what to do about the PS pump? I would like to use my factory pump so what bracket would I need to look for?

Is there anything that I have left out?

I really want to do this swap a.s.a.p. I found a '97 stratus engine w/ low miles around here for $250, and when I fill that I have the info needed, then I would like to begin the swap and do a write-up with an intense amount of pics available to make this more possible to those who would also like to accomplish the swap.

So you plan on trying to use the 2.4 head also?

No I plan on using the 2.0 head. I just want to use the 2.4 block.

i built mine from a 1G driver's side mount (because its steel) and a 6x6" section of steel plate. I used a 2002 PT Cruiser side MM bracket bolted to the block, which also provides the mount for the PS. A slight modification to the pump, and to the bracket, and everything works. :shrug

ill make you one, but its not going to be 100 bucks...

I tig weld everything so it takes a little more time, but the quality is there.

Thats a nice bracket. What will you charge? I will need one by late March...?

Personally i would value these at 150.00 for steel. 200.00 for alum. Not saying I am going to produce to them

Oh I plan to make my own, that was the whole idea of my new tool.

Josh is actually TIG welding his and it looks much nicer than a MIG. MIG is clean but TIG is a little nicer.

I can make it look just as nice with a MIG, but I dont have a powerful enough MIG welder to weld those fat gussets. 1/2" or 3/8" gussets are definately overkill, though. 3/16" or 1/4" would be fine...I can do that. I use my 110 for mostly exhaust, my TIG is a beast and im a fan of smaller neater welds anyway.

send me an e-mail if youre serious about wanting one. I take mad pride in my work, but it doesnt take very long to make one of these. It will look tits and people will wonder where you got that shit.

I can do alluminum as well, if you want.

edit: heres a little gem for you...

if you want to be simple, modify the STOCK ALLUMINUM ONE. its cheaper and works just fine. cut the bottom off, relocate the bottom hole and add you also have to modify the top half a little bit. its cake, Chris did it and it looks like stock.

I 2.4 swapped a couple 1st gen neons. You can easily make 200 whp on a stock bottom end 2.4 with big cams, full raceport and all of the supporting mods. I made 187whp with crane 22's running pig rich. If my AFC wouldn't have hosed at the DYNO it would have been easy to lean it down and make 200whp on a stock bottom end. I'm not that familiar with my Eclipse yet because I've only had it for 6 weeks so I'm not sure if it will be as easy with the head being backwards to what I'm used to. I just picked up a stage 2 HRC kit so I have no plans on keeping it N/A.

What is the highest WHP N/A, 2.4 swapped, 2G Eclipse??

~175ish, on a 2.0L. Streetable, pump gas on fairly mild cams, but running a MSnS.
