Im so dumb. Kill me. No dont. Anyways, I changed the spark plugs in my Talon...

I spaced them at .049 which I read on many Talon sites as the best spacing. But Chilton's said .038...... But I picked Talon sites over Chilton's and now I have a check engine light on that flashes the codes for "Multiple cylinders misfiring". What do I do? .049 obviously is not right. Is .038 better as Chilton's says? Thanks.

I got the BOSCH platinum +4's and they come pre gapped ready to go in from the factory. So I dont know the gapping. If you get the +4's you dont have to worry about it.

I ran the Bosh Platinums for a while. Hated them. Fouled out two sets within a month. So, I switched to good ole' NGK V-grooves. Besides, Platinum plugs are more for longevity and fuel efficiency. The V-grooves are more performance orientated.

Oh man my Bosch Platinum's rule.. They actually made a pretty big difference.. Car ran smoother, quicker response, although I did plug wires and air filter all at the same time.... But nevertheless, I like em.

I am using my second set of +4's. You must have got a bad batch of plugs. I only hear positive things about them.

last thru i put a set of +4's in and by sunday i had to pull them out i was also doing my VC cover and wires and things. but the tip on one of them was blown apart a mechanic told me he thought they sucked. this morning the car was running pretty good but tonight it's being a little sluggish so i think i am going to pull them out in the morning and see what they look like. i'm not going to pass judgment until then but at $5.99 per i exspected a lot more out of them. the mechanic told me he thought autolite's were just as good and only cost $1 each. so we will see. The spark plug gap is underneath the hood - have fun.

Dude same thing happened to my cousins eclipse. I think that he and he had to have his mechanic adjust his timing. His car put putted when he first started and couldnt idle but after getting his timing adjusted (I Think) that it runs better. I think that that was it.

I want to say gap should be .035" (That what it is on my 420A Neon, just did a tune up) But it should be on the bottom of your hood. If this doesn't fix it, ohm out your wires, and work your way back through the electrical system.

the catalyst sticker under the hood says .38 for mine it's a 95 esi

my GF's neon had that some code of "multiple cylinder misfiring". cause was one faulty plug wire. We replaced the whole wire set, and the car runs fine since. Hope this helps.
