Ok, I have a spare motor for my build and need to order new main bearings. I am not sure what year the motor is and was wondering if someone had a picture of the the offset notch in the 95 main bearings or some kind of visual way for me to look at what I have and compare it to what I will need... Hopefully that made sense.

I just want to make sure I get the right bearings.

most people prefer to get the 95 bearings, as those have a 360* oil groove as opposed to the others that have just a 180.
i prefer the extra security in them and would use them on any block i do.
now you are right that they have a tab that dosent fit into newer blocks. this is easily remedied with a dremel and a metal cutting wheel.
just take your time when notching the skirt and keep checking fitment till its right on then your good to go.

Judging by Star's response I have the 96-99 block. I don't quite understand the other post :-p I just wanted to know which bearings I needed, but thanks for the suggestion.

yes you can get 2 sets of bearings and return the one you don't need. me? i suck at keeping my receipts so i just said forget it. i bought the Full-Groove main bearings and notched my block so they fit.

now instead of having to figure out what my block was, i "Made" it a 95 and gave myself extra comfort with the larger oil groove.

No you can buy two sets of 96-99 to get the full groove bearings.

Wow, if that really works it may be worth the extra $70 or so. Do you run it this way? I'm suprised no one else has suggested this to me on Tuners.

I wasn't so much concerned with the oil grooves, I really just wanted to know which block I had. Sounds like its 96-99 so I'll order 2 sets of the Clevite 96-99 Mains.
