111999, to keep or not to keep the IC...that is the ? Posted by Trambone, Dec-03-08 09:52 PM
Hey all, I took my turbo off.. :( but was wanting to keep the front mount intercooler on and was wondering if that would be a good idea or not? I was hoping to get a little more HP from keeping it on.
Also, if you dont mind me asking so I dont have to make another post. Would it be ok to leave the 255 fuel pump in my car? I did away with everything turbo and am not wanting to buy a new pump.
Thanks and Merry Christmas everyone. :)

I think what he is trying to keep out of it is the cooler air. I highly doubt you car going to notice any difference. I think the only thing you'll end up with is more stuff in the way under the hood. As far as the fuel pump goes, the ECU is only going to pull the fuel it needs so the fuel pump would be fine where its at.

agree if you keep this "interfooler" for the purpose of cooling the intake charge (good idea in theory) i really doubt it will perform that much better then a CAI. you want free flowing air with the least amount of restriction going into an NA motor

Thanks guys...I was thinking the cooler air of the intercooler would help the HP, the same as a cold air intake. That idea went up in smoke lol

the air temp is cooler, but the restriction of air out weighs the benefits of the lower temp.
get a CAI or put another turbo on it.
