I have installed these plugs in a Jeep Cherokee, Honda Civic, 1999 Eclipse, and my 97 Eclipse, all with good results. I got definite torque increase, better mpg, and my emissions dropped on all 4 vehicles. They're $25 bucks ea. but easily pay for themselves. Anyone else using them?

holy shit that is expensive. I think i'll just stick with basic plugs like NGK's or Bosch. The Iridiums are expensive enough as it is

Color me skeptical. Reminds me of Nology wires. How do you know you got an increase in torque? Dyno? Butt dyno? I can believe an increase in economy is easily noticed, but torque improvements and reduced emissions are the sort of things you need some paperwork to document them.

If I spent $100 on a set of spark plugs, you better believe I'd be feeling an improvement too!

lmao, definitely the butt dyno. I used to cruise 5th gear about 40 mph with no lugging/shaking, etc. (slow acceleration from there though) Now I can hold 30mph in 5th with the same results. I thought that implied a torque increase too but perhaps I'm confused. I just know they work that way and do boost milage a bit too. I'm getting 51.5 mpg srtictly freeway @ 70 mph now, no passengers, no load, flat road. I can't attribute exactly how much the plugs added to that as I put a 3'' intake and 2.5 cat exhaust all about the same time.

Must be one of those "factory freaks" if it's getting near 52MPG. That's just unheard of.

I could maybe believe 52 MPG at a steady 45MPH and with a healthy tail wind pushing you. No way to get even close to that at 70 MPH cruising speed.

I thought this might cause a little controversey and that wasn't my intention. I just sold a toyota tercel that got 55 freeway. I actually had to "prove" it to a couple friends. I'm thinking of asking a hometown member of 2GNT if he would mind verifying it just so some of you won't think I'm BSing. (not my style) I've not met him yet but he sent a "welcome" in the Intro section and goes by "ez" on here. Maybe this is a factory freak, lol. I forgot to mention that I put a Boss Performance chip in it too. Supposedly it adds HP n MPG but I can't say much else about it. Nothing to compare it too as it's my first ever. TTYL all.

Erik potentially vouching for $25 spark plugs and "performance chips" I would doubt, but if Erik chimes in that he noticed improvements, irrespective of stating numbers, I would be willing to accept his review.

Instantaneous MPG at 55mpg on flat highway, 30ft off a 53ft Reefer, I might believe, but there are no chips out there that actually do anything for these cars (they are all, 100% confirmed bullshit scams, sorry) and it would take more than fancy spark plugs to get you to the 50mpg mark without undercar aero and serious fuel tuning via Megasquirt.

I've seen 515 miles on a single tank of gas in a 2GNT. If you were getting 50mpg, you'd be seeing a minimum of 650 miles on a tank before the low fuel light came on.

Hi DR. I couldn't ask him to vouche for anything either. Like I said, I can't attribute any particular numbers to the plugs myself as I did a few things at the same time. I did use them singularly in a Toy and a Jeep and saw noticable improvements. Nothing to get on the Oprah show though. I will contact Erik and see if he wants to burn a few hours on the freeway just to verify the milage I claim. I'm very new hare and don't wish to be seen as a fool, lol. Or a liar. I'm just an old (54) man that grew up breaking muscle cars, went through a sports car and off road phase, did the family thing, and ended up with an old Eclipse that I love the shit out of. The wife is dead, the kids gone, and there seems to be a bunch of aftermarket stuff out there to mess around with!

In the summer with my CAI on, with normal driving (shifting before 3k) Ive gotten 400 miles +/- 20 miles to a tank, about 14 gallons. Thats roughly 30 MPG. Im not spending $100 to get a few more out of the tank. Altough if someone gave them to me, Id be more than willing to use them.

I get 31mpg regularly, I track it every time I fill up. Im always with .5mpg of 31. Highway driving I have seen 35-38mpg, depends on the speed im going.

I have a GST muffler, Greddy Header, AEM CAI, UR UDP, and a Modern TB.

Yes, I think the confusion is the fact that he stated he gets over 50 MPG "strictly freeway" which we think is normal freeway driving where you still have starting and stopping involved after emptying a tank after many miles.

I think he is saying "strictly freeway" is when you are already up to speed and then take an instantaneous reading or maybe read a one mile average with no vehicle speed deviations (like I can reasonably measure with my ScanGaugeII). I can easily get into the low-to-mid 40 MPG range with that scenario. That is about as logical as watching the trip computer show 99.99 MPG as you coast down a hill since eventually you run out of hill or you have to drive back up to the top.

Like DR1665 says, run a whole tank out with mostly freeway driving at varying speeds and then let's see the results. I have reason to belive it will be better but still not that good. No one drives on flat roads with no passengers at the same speed for very long.

I saw the local Autozone had a money back guarantee on these plugs. I'll have to read the fine print first and then maybe I'll try them. As long as I can get a full refund if they don't perform as promised I'm okay to test a set.

Hi Dave. What I meant by strictly freeway was I filled up at a station 1.5 miles from the on ramp, drove 80 miles to an off ramp, went 18 miles on streets returning to the freeway I last was on, went another 80 miles home to the same 1.5 mile from the freeway station and checked the milage. I understand all skepticism here and repeat I don't attribute all my gains to the plugs alone. I am soon going to make 2 full tank runs because I'm aware of the necessity to compile more complete info. Are you near Phoenix by chance? My "strictly freeway" will be from Long Beach to there. Maybe we can hook up for lunch? That will be my turn around point regardless of tank usage. My 2nd tank usage will be one of my personal driving habits which is about 65% streets/35% freeway. Hey. No worries, sir. As you can imagine, we're kinda used to the whole MySpace/HighSchool crowd around these parts. You've handled yourself well thus far and that goes a long way towards credibility.

More powerful ignition/spark has long been a proven way to improve combustion, which leads to improved torque and economy, for sure, but the capacitive nature of products like these Pusltars and the Nology plug wires of old lend themselves to possibly retarding ignition timing relative to when the ECU actually sends the signal to fire. When were figuring 50 ignition events per second at just 3000rpm, there is a spark plug firing every 0.02 seconds. If the capacitors in these plugs delay the spark energy in any way, how does that affect ignition timing? Know what I mean?

We would be interested in hearing how you fare on a tank of gas, though. Relevant to this thread, if you've got some numbers for us with how far you've made it on a single tank, city/highway/mix, etc. that would be good stuff for more qualified discussion on the matter.

Thank you Dr. for the kind words. You've given me a whole new thing to think about with the spark delay affecting timing. Never crossed my mind. I'll call the tech @ pulstar and see if they estimated that. I'll definitely get a few more numbers based on tank use and driving conditions and post them here. Thanks again for the welcome.
