111796, 95 Talon missing bad...low fuel pressure problem!!

Hey guys, I have sold you guys many parts very cheap so I need some advice. I tried to search but had some problems getting good answers. I bought a 95 Talon to add to my chop shop collection but it is a very nice car and I thought I might try to save this one and keep it on the streets.

Anyways, it misses real bad but compression, plugs, wires, and coil are all good. I did a fuel pressure check and it has no fuel pressure when the key is turned on. At idle, it only has about 20 psi. I know that it could be the fuel filter or the fuel pressure regulator, but why would it have 0 psi when the pump should be priming? It starts everytime also so I don't understand that either. Any advice?

Have you verified pump is priming? Can't hurt to replace the filter. That would be where I would start. If the pressure remains low, being a 95, I'd see about swapping another regulator/rail on there and see if that fixes anything.

You might probe the fuel pump power wire at the pump with the car running. See if you are getting 14V or something significantly less. If you are getting full voltage, you might try pinching the rubber fuel return line (possibly with vice-grips) to see if the fuel pressure rises. If the pressure rises, you might blame the stock regulator. If the pressure does not rise, it might be the pump or filter. I can't really think of an easy way to narrow it down further.
