Hi.

Ive always gotten lke 10mpg since i boguht the car used cause i have a COMPLETELY DEAD front o2 sensor in my 95 talon. ok i bought a new one. i CANT for the lov of god get the old one out. i tried everything. so in the meantime, what would happen if i unplugged the old one and plugged in the new one and left it hanging in the air? would that give me to much gas? i think so, BUT, would i get better mileage than with a completely dead o2 sensor? i wuld think so. this would be until i get the manifold off and vice grip the sensor out of there.

after you unbolt the sensor from the downpipe using an O2 sensor socket, it shouldnt be a problem. then shoudl be a clip that you pull or press and the sensor shoudl come off... i dont remmeber if the 02 sensor had a clip or if all you had to do was get the socket.

Soak it with LIQUID WRENCH a couple of time for a couple of days. Do it when the engine is cold. They try it. They can be quite stubborn when they get some years on them. MAKE SURE the new one has anti-sieze on it.

GOOD LUCK
