exactly what do i need to do to block off my egr?do i just out piping and plug holes? How much will gas milage suffer? any other side effects?

Lets c.. YOu will have to put a bypass valve the vacuum line. or you can just take it all out like so me of us have (you will get a led and will not pass emissions though :) ) I have not noticed a real diference in fuel consumption, but the idle is a bit rougher, but nothing serious.

is it easier to just take it all out?about the emissions.. i havecustom 2.5" SS exhuast all way back w/no cat.:P i heard if ur tubo thenn u will blow a gasket/seal, is this tru?

I think it is easier to just take it all out, especially since you already have a CEL (I took the CEL bulb out as well, but I recommend you have a datalogger). If you do remove the entire EGR system the only thing you can "blow" off would be the block-off plates (which would take some serious boost).

I noticed a 40mi of my tank. It's worth it though. I just pulled the wires coming off the actuator and the vacume hose running to the EGR valve. Then pulled the metal hose running to the manifold.
I fabricated a blockoff for the intake manifold.
To keep from pulling a CEL I plan on making a dump tube so when it activates its not going in my intake and no CEL.:-)

is it ok to leave the hole at the head open? does anyone have pictures, i know where the metal tube is but not sure about the actuator or the vac line.
BTW babybeclipse i'm assuming u meant u lost 40mi to the tank

You have to block them both off, on the block and on the intake... i made my own plates, pretty simple mod... no need to buy the mopar blockoff kit for $$$

sorry I ment I lost 40mi per tank. I didn't remove the actuall EGR valve. I just kept it from opening. Then I blocked off the opening in the manifold.

Here is a pic of the EGR system removed from the head (can't find the pic of the block-off plate on the head). Also, a pic of the block-off plate on the intake manifold.

some have used pop can's to cut a gasket, but that is leaving the tube etc.. there. I would use at least .040-.060 steel/aluminum

to cut the gasquets just trace the original gasquet on a sheet of metal and cut. you can use the same bolts to put them back on. YOu will need to add some extra washers to the one for the engine block as the screws are a bit long.

the little black plastic saucer looking thing that looks like it is hanging in mid air next to your exhaust manny is your egr actuator. Just follow the little vacuum line back to the intake manny and you will c where it connects.

so far i have blocked both the intake manifold part and teh block part. but the piece that has the chrysler symbol on it, what do i do with it? and the silver actulator or whatever it is, what about it too? later

you should have just left the acutator and the assembly on the car.. and just blocked off the places where the pipe ran betwwen the head and teh intake manifold.. taht way no cel.. :-)

For emissions purposes DSM has a valve that opens in specific conditions to put exhaust gases in your intake.
This saves gas and helps with emmisions buy burning the fuel multiple times.
Down side. Your intake gets clogged with carbon deposets and you loose hp.
I simply pulled the vacuume hose off the actuator to the EGR valve (with the star on it) When I had some time I pulled out the dump tube from the EGR to the manifold and fabricated a block at the manifold.
After cleaning out the crap in the manifold I made big improvements in power. only down side is how much gas my car eats now.
