I bought a Goodyear Gatorback timing belt #40246 for my 97nt. When they pulled the parts up on the computer it offered a belt for a motor with a balance shaft, "which would be the 4g63". So I told him to try a 99 eclipse and it brought up the right belt for it, but it said it fits only 96 and 99 years. I bought it anyway, and was wondering if the're any differences between the 97 and 99 motors. I just hate to tear her down just to find out I have the wrong belt.

sounds like poor software to me (or bad operator).

The same thing happened to me. I bought both belts and returned the balance belt. There is no difference in the motors. It has to be something w/ the software they use. What store did you go to?

Auto Zone, but the weird thing is, I went straight to Goodyear a while back and they said they dont make a belt for the 2gnt.
