Ok I went to get a ball joint recall taken care of today. I got to the dealer early and just asked them out of curiousity if they could check my codes and (had a CEL for about a week) is they charged. They said it would be 38 bucks. Screw that. Went to Autozone and got my codes...back to the dealer....needed new plugs and wires, they wanted to charge me $275.00 + tax to do that. Screw that. My questions is are all plugs and wires created equal? I mean regular autoparts store ones? The guys said I should get the Mitsubishi ones because the autozone ones suck....I dunno help!?

EDIT: I was so close to buying an Evo while i was there...what kind of boost to they run off the line? they guy said he thought it was 19psi but that didn't sound right to me at all.

The EVO's DO run 19 psi stock.

You can get a set of NGK plugs for no more than $10 and a set of Magnacore or MSD wires for about $75. If you do the install yourself, you save $200.:P

Dear god. NGK BKR5E's only ran me like 6 bucks here, OEM Bosch wires are only about 30 bucks....

You can get the NGK plugs for around $2 each @ your local autoparts store. I got a set of MSD 8.5mm Super Conductor wires from Summit for like $52 shipped. Not too bad IMO

Satan told me the same thing - that plugs and wires from auto stores won't last on our cars...I have to buy Mitsu wires, etc. Screw satan, dude! I've had Bosch platinum plugs and wires on my car from Autozone for almost 2 years and I've never had trouble with them. Satan can go back to hell for all I care!!}(

bosch anything suck. thier spark plugs suck, thier wires suck, thier O2 sensors really suck.
