When it happens you sould hear it. When I had detonation I could hear it loud and clear. What size injectors R U running.I'm running 450cc at around 50psi at 9-10lbs. of boost.

injectors = 440cc
boost = 10psi @ 42psi of fuel (seems low, is that about right?)

What I am saying though is, I cant hear anything cuz my wastegate is too loud, along with my exhaust and a chattering clutch, lol.

Put some rocks in an empty pop can and shake it. That would be the sound of detonation.

thats what i figured. i dont hear any of that. just wanted to make sure cuz that turbonetics deltagate makes a super odd noise when it opsn up.

That does seem low. What do you idle at. What are your stft ltft on the datalogger.

With windows rolled up, radio off, I can hear it pretty easily, IF you know what sound you are listening for. I describe it more of a rapid metalic spitting sound more than rocks in a can, but that's just me. It seems to be heard coming from the center to passenger side area of the dashboard when it happens.. I had a sound file of it when jason's car was on the dyno at the shootout a few years ago..maybe i can find it and someone can host it..

It probably is, you will know detonation when you hear it. Trust me haha, its not a pretty sound. Wastegates make funny noises.

no one ever answered my question though about how much FP your seeing at 10psi....?

I would like to answer that but im only running 5 PSI therefore I don't know hahah.

14 psi static & idle, 43 psi @ 10 psi on 450cc injectors which puts me a little under 12:1 fuel ratio when I dyno'd.

hmm okay. im about 40-42psi on 10psi with 440 injectors. i thought that was a little low, but i guess im okay. my idle is 16psi and my static is about 28-30psi. im gonna turn up the boost this week to about 15psi. i hope my disc/ring combo wont max out.

also, i was searching through here about the SFMU and i read something that NER posted awhile ago, and he said he was having problems with 'hesitation' but he didnt wanna say it was hesitation, lol. he said he would see on the boost gauge that he was boosting, but it didnt start to get up and go until about 6-10psi. so he said he drilled out both sides of the restrictor to double what they were and now the car starts going good when the gauge starts reading boost.

anyone else done this? cuz my car kinda seems to do the same thing. i wont start moving good until about 6psi. i guess i will try it later tomorrow, but i wanted to know if anyone else has tried it.

every car is a little different. So someone elses settings might not be exactly perfect for your set up, even if they are close to the same. You need to get the car on a dyno and tune it that way. Thats the best and safest way. You can keep turning up the boost a little at a time and hope you have it right, but its not hard to blow a badly tuned motor...

Okay, ive searched and read like 15 forums on fuel pressure under boost. I see some people said @ 10psi, their at or over 100psi of FP and others are at 38-48psi of FP and other at 80-85psi of FP. Which one is freakin right? lol. I am running 42lb injectors (440cc) with an idle pressure of 16psi and the other day i was seeing 42psi @ WOT at 10psi of boost, but now suddenly today, it was cooler outside, and some reason, im getting about 58-62psi of FP at 10psi. Am I going good or whats up here. 10 diff posts i read, all said somethign different. lol.

Blah, lol. I was asking about fuel pressures because if you search (liek i did and read about 30 posts) in almost every post, it said something different. Some said, with the fuel setup I have, i should be seeing 80psi, 100+psi etc etc. I was asking to try to get a specific answer. I know the basics around things, but i was trying to get a straight answer instead of 10 different ones....

PLUS, I do need to get to the dyno and get my own wideband :)

lol. Are you telling Corbin to search? thats pretty funny. He basically wrote the book on fuel systems for our cars, or at least one of the books. An innovator for sure.

Anyway, I don't think you actually read any of the responses that people continue to type in to your questions. I gave you info and links to help tune your car, but I have a feeling you didn't read them or use them.

NO NO NOOOO! LOL. I was NOT telling Corbin to search. I was saying that when i searched, i found 10 diff answers to the same question and i was trying to find the actual answer. Come to find out, after looking and printing out the diagram you gave me djtrickee, i found out my fuel pressure should be 60psi while boosting @ 10psi :) I thank you chris, VERY much. :) :) :)
