So i just got done searching for information bout upgrading lifters and the most useful thread i found was from 2003 and had a link to a website that didnt work so i want to ask for your help..... Whats the purpose of upgrading the lifters and rockers? whats the difference between the stockers and the upgraded PT rockers? and last but not least are the Upgraded PT's just the stockers off of the PT cruiser?
if someone would please shed some light unto my confusion it would be greatly appreciated thanks 2GNT you guys have given me so much information to build off of and expand my knowledge its absolutely rediculous

It was just an improved design. You can also switch to solid lifters instead of the hydraulic lifters we have which will, open the valves to a greater extent and they also close faster. They allow higher spring pressures and are better for more aggressive lifts on cams. Basically better control of the valvetrain. And yes they are just like stock PT lifters. The motors are damn near the same. I think all they did was just bore and stroke it and turn the head around backwards. Solid lifters are kinda pricey compared to the PT ones.

2.7 Rockers are the best rockers for our head.

Check Neons.org for more info.

2001+ Should be them.

Basically there is a hole drilled that aims the oil spray at the rocker. The PT style has a larger hole, but doesnt aim at the rocker.

Here are some pics I jacked that clearly show which ones to get:

Points to you sir.

Guys, don't talk about it, go ahead and do it. It helps everyone including yourself because it becomes an easier reference point than searching.

PS - Dino has implemented new wiki functionality in the forums. You can now link to ANY wiki page by putting the wiki page title between double square brackets like this: Rockers.
