Hey guys, I was wondering if anyone knows how much .002 inches is on an oversized ring. Its for my friends miata engine. I searched their forum and it sucks and on the web, so I went to the place where i was sure i could get the info.;) Searched around here but didn't find any conversions. Thanks guys

Um..... .002 = 2/1000 or two one thousandths.

or..... .002 = 2mm or 2 millimeters

or..... .002 converted over to mm is .0508 mm

I guess I don't really know what you are asking, lol.

It's ok. One of the guys on the miata forums finally responded to me after almost 2 weeks. He said to just use standard size bearings since that is still within limit of .004. Which it doesn't specify in the Haynes manual. It does in my eclipse manual, but doesn't specify bearing measurements. :shrug Thanks for the effort though, it is appreciated. ;)

doesn't suprise me... I have a haynes, chilton, Hiens,the factory service manual, and all-data. You have to combine all of the first three to get what the factory and all-data have for information.


Oh- and when I assembled a bottom end for a 2000 neon about a month ago, I found that my eclipse's Haynes manual had everything I needed for specs. Not the haynes that the guy dropped of with the motor. That didn't even have the torque spec for the UDP he wanted put on...

Ask anybody on here, or works on cars regularly for that matter, those $20 parts store manuals only cover that basics- and not always the greatest.

hell ya, those cd's on ebay are better. I actually found it to be quite useful, just a pain in the ass to find some of the info you are looking for and the fact that it is on a cd and you have to have the laptop out there with you, but other than that, 15 bucks i think was worth it. I guess i got one of the better ones cuz i here people bitching about them alot.
