I have a set of eagle long rods and what I am still a little confused on is what piston is right for it. What makes a piston specifically for a long rod other then a spacer? I realize that JE has pistons that states they are made for a long rod applications however is there a physical difference of that piston compared to a regular piston?

Yes they are different. The long rod piston has the wrist pin located higher that the regualar piston.

Pistons made for longer rods have wrist pin higher like terry said. Most of the time it will super close to the oil ringland. Thats the easiest way to tell them apart.
