So I installed an Injen Short Ram intake earlier today. I was wondering, should I be worried about water? This is one of the reasons I got the short ram. But I am still a bit paranoid about it. Just watch out for huge puddles right?

With a short ram intake, you should be fine. Its the longer cold air intakes that route down by the bumper that you need to worry about sucking water into the motor. But, you should be fine.

I argree with Mike. I use an HKS short ram all through the rainy season, then switch to the long ram after Spring and have never had a problem. Also, AEM sells a water trap for about $50 if you're really worried. It's a sponge ring you put in line on your ram. It will suck out and trap any moisture coming into your system.

You would need to drive through small lake in order to get water in the short ram intake.

You would need to drive through a decent puddle even with a cold air. My friends have cold air intake and drive in the rain. Wouldn't do it personally myself, but the only case of hydro-locking the engine i've heard of around here is some bitch taking her lowered cobalt with cold air through a fuckin lake and doing burnouts in it......women :nuts
