This just recently popped up on DSMTuners:

Is that the same car we saw on here late last year? With the hood all hacked up?
Not bad. I'd definately look into finding a tig welder to make me a sheet metal intake manifold. If not, i'd be buying a shitload of fiberglass resin, mat and hardener to make a one off hood that covers all of that while still looking good.
Fuck that engine bay is CRAMPED!

Yeah but 2g's are much prettier, so it's cooler :D (Unless if you have to cut the hood like in the link Paul posted)

Big deal.....not like its is much harder than a standard 2.4L.

no big deal
really ...
I'm sure Mister Average Joe could do it in his driveway

Wow, I don't know how many times I read on this site that it couldn't be done.........

Well if you want to run the stock computer...it cant be done. But most of us are running MS ECU's now which does make it possible. Most of the posts you read were prior to the MS code for the SRT4 crank sensor as well.
Alain makes a good point that you will need to tunnel a route for the exhaust but anyone fabricting their own mount is capable of doing this.
The original thought was to use our head but you cant so the mentality for many years was that you couldnt do it.

Every time someone mentioned the srt4 motor, the reply was always: "you'll have to cut the firewall just to get the engine to fit" and "you can't get the axles to work" I never really read anything about the wiring, considering if you do any kind of a motor swap, rewiring is already an obvious thing you must do.

You'd have to use the 2GNT trans and axles anyway - the A588 and the NV-T850 combined won't physically fit in the engine bay.

Ah, so the nvt350 bolts up to the srt4 motor? Or you would have to fab something up?

It would bolt up. the block to bellhousing pattern is the same between 2.4 / 2.0.

Ah, so if it bolts up to the block, you can use the stock motor mount for the tranny, the rear mount and the front mount right? I was thinking about doing this, I have a spare 2g.

Yes, You would have to fab up a passenger side motor mount though.

Well what about the srt4 oil pan and the 2g crossmember?

Not gonna gonna work. You have to cut/weld the oilpan.

...but since the pan is cast aluminum, it tigs pretty easily. However, unless you use some kind of oilproof sealant on the inside, it will weep oil at the welds. I speak from experience...

The point people were trying to make when they said, "Don't even try it" was that, if you know how to fabricate what you need, it can be done, but if you have to ask all kinds of questions like "What about the oil pan and crossmember" or "Do I have to cut the firewall" then it's probably going to be a bit of a stretch for you, at a minimum. Nobody here likes to read posts by people who got in over their heads, destroyed a perfectly good car, and then blathers on and on about how it's the car's fault. Dig?
Simple fact is, if you have the tools and know-how to cut out things that are in your way and weld shit together where and how you want it, then you can do damn near anything to your car. There are no off-the-shelf parts for some of these requirements. Likewise, there are no plans or blue prints or step-by-step write ups with pictures to hold your hand as you go. If you want to put some other engine into your car, you need the resources and the confidence to tackle any and all issues you come across.
Shit. There's guys out there with 3000GT engines in old Dodge Shadows. My buddy Ray has a GT35 *and* an Eaton M62 supercharger on his 1G TSi. The thing to remember is, If nobody else is doing something, you need to figure out why. If the project is more trouble than it's worth, they won't bother, and you probably shouldn't either. Just my .02.

Very well put, I know I have the ability to do it and the know how, but the tools are what I am lacking. Maybe some day though. Thanks for all the input. It would just be easier to rebuild and turbo my spare car. :)
