so i was wondering if any one had a picture of after taking the transmisson off and split where is the speed sensor driving gear? i went through all the steps and have concluded that thats what went out... changed the speed sensor and the gear.. then i spun the gear the see if it would register in side the car and it did.. then i want and got a quote to take the transmission off and fix it and they said it would be around 600 bucks.... and its a 12$ part

any help would be great oooh and how hard is it to take the differincial off?

To get the diff out, you're definitely going to want to have the trans on a bench. You want a nice, clean work space to keep things from getting in there and fucking your trans all to hell.

The hardest part is getting the trans out of the car and up on the bench, imo. Beyond that, you're just removing the (13?) bolts that hold the trans together before taking a soft mallet and tapping the two bits to separate. Once it's apart, things should look pretty straight forward. Lift the diff on out.

The little gear on the end of the actual VSS (vehicle speed sensor) meshes with a white-ish plastic ring that goes around the outside of the diff. If you need the VSS replaced, it's a five minute job. If you need to replace the gear on the diff, expect to pull the trans, separate it, and have your hands busy for a few hours. $600 doesn't sound too bad if THAT'S what they're going to do for you.

Consider picking up a replacement input shaft bearing from the dealer while you've got things open. I don't trust those cheap, plastic sons-o-bitches for shit anymore. It's also a good time to throw in a new clutch, too. If you've got to pull the trans, might as well replace a few things while you're in there.
