109748, Obx header and Ebay short shifter installed Posted by CymrychHugh, Aug-18-08 12:00 PM
Started the install early Sunday morning with the header and finished just as the sun was going down with the short throw. The header is an OBX Ceramic coated 4-1 header and the short throw is an ebay B&M type shifter. For the money both are great. I ran into a few problems trying to detach the flex pipe from the cat, the 2 bolts holding them together were impossible to get off, i had to take it to Monroe and have them torch the crap out of them to loosen em up. Short throw took me 25 minutes to install roughly, i opted for the 50% throw reduction and it feels wonderful, awesome, and tight. I am running an apc short ram, the header, and an Ebay muffler which came with the car, with oem exhaust piping and it sounds great, tbh. It has a little bit of a purr until about 4k and then starts to break up, really nicely though. I know these mods aren't much of a big deal, but these are the first mods I have put on myself and to be honest, the first time i really worked on my own car. Went on a few backroad runs this morning at around 2a.m and was so pleased with the performance for 225$. Thanks to 2gnt.com for the advice on the parts.
