109723, AEM cam gear bolts - replacing ?
Posted by juan, Aug-14-08 02:33 PM
So I have the old-style AEM cam gears with the socket button head bolts. Anyone know the parameters (length, diameter, pitch) of replacement hex bolts?

Also, is it valid to assume that I could replace them one at a time, leaving the rest in place to ensure that nothing changes with regards to the timing?

The main reason I want to do this is to be able to re-install the cover plate. If I try to put it in place now the bolt heads contact it and make a ticking noise when the motor is running. I tried dremelling off some of the plastic on the inner side of the plate, but the bolt heads still seem to be too 'tall' to allow enough clearance. I am also assuming, perhaps incorrectly, that the hex bolts will have a lower profile...

thx,
juan
