i just got back from my vac at flordia and everything seemed well unil i got in my car. it has been sitting for a week so it wouldnt start. i thought no biggy ill just jump it and so i did and it started right up but when it did it was running funny. i let it sit for a min but when i went to move it it died like it ran out of gas. it turns but will not start!!! the same story all the time. i have changed the coil pack, the crank sen and got the alt checked. i even sprayed starting fluid in so that rules out the fuel system because it wont even backfire its still not getting any spark so someone tells me my ecu might have takin a shit on me. do you guys think so?

i had that problem after i did a valve job and it was just that the plugs to the spark plugs were mixed up so they fired at the wrong time see if that works

u said u got no spar and u got a new coil so check your cam sensor and a asd relay

what is a asd relay and where is it

i checked the alt, got a new battery, crank cen. can a cam cen cause this?

Its already been suggested that you check your cam sensor.

i have changed the cam cen now and still will not fire over. i smell the gas but not firing. what the hell is going on. does anyone live in the westland, ypsi, ann arbor, or anything around there so i can test if my ecu will work on your car. i dont want to buy one but the only thing left over is the ecu. HELP ME PLEASE!!!!!

if i could only find someone that lives close to me so i can test it on there car. do have any takers, please. it would suck to buy an ecu when its not the problem. but then again thats the only thing left to change that deals with the spark.

sorry guys but what about the ecm relay, would that cause it not to spark?

the asd relay. If you're atx, there's 3 relays by your master cylinder, if you manual there's 2 by your clutch master. the inside most is fuel, the next is spark, and the outside i believe is something with the atx (I've got manual, so not positive on the last). Any plain-jane 5-prong accessory relay from a parts store will fit it.

well, thats it i have replaced everything but the ecu. cam and crank sencer. battery asd relay. still not spark. F my life!!!!!!

I'd start checking for shorts in the wiring or corroded connecters.

off the wall try, but my car died on me a while back in the middle of an intersection - the wire harness by the cam sensor slacked down onto the EGR tube. Melted the shroud, and shorted a sensor reference wire, blew my ignition fuse. It cranked, but didn't fire. If all your fuses are fine - disregard, but somethin to check...

that was the first thing i checked before i changed anything. ill just have to go to the dealer to test my ecu.

this got me thinking, im about to buy another ecu and i thought about if other people had a problem with there car and it up being the ecu. i hope to god mine is if not ill burn it to the ground but were you a victim of the ecu monster? :dark

SHE RUNSSSSSS!!!! kind of, i have replaced the ecu and it started but when i drove it down the street it keeps dieing. i was lost, im at the end of my rope here. at the last min before i lit the match i touched the throttle position senser and it stalled. the female part of the harness is lose. so im going to the junk yard the cut off one to splice it on mine. i hope this is it. :bowdown
