ok heres is the deal, i ran the car probly 1/2 a mile. but one of my water houses was out. i left it runnin(puttin water in the rad. with a water hose and nver filled up????ok so i found the problem, connected the hose and put water....turned on the car and was running fine. exept for that the temp. gauge was on high(very top)
i left it sittin the night.next day i turned it on....same thing, needle set at its highest.
what can it be??i find it weird cuz none of my fans turn on. thanks in advance

Unplug the gauge temperature sensor. it's the lower of the two in the waterneck. if the gauge goes down, then you need to replace that sensor.

sorry but where is the temp sensor?waterneck, near the thermostat

You've got an air bubble in your coolant. burp the system.

first, make your sig pic much SMALLER

once you're done with that, make sure that the engine is cold. remove your radiator cap and top off your fluid. leave the cap off and start the car. let it run up to temp and watch the coolant bubble until it stops. recap the coolant and make sure your reservoir bottle is topped to the fill mark and that5 all the hoses and cap are in good condition and not cracked or leaking.

so i burped the system, and unplugged the sensor, temp is still high. my fans are not turning on, i am going to check the fuses, but nemore ideas?

Sounds like the needle is physically stuck on the warped ebay EL gauge panel overlay(just guessing).



If you have operating A/C do both fans turn on when the A/C switch is activated?

umm i try tapping the needle but thats not it, cuz when i turn off the key the needle goes down,also my a/c isnt werking. not sure whsat it is, probably needs ground, but havent looked into that yet

If the temp gauge goes straight to HOT even when the engine is cold then its obviously the temp sender like Dino previously stated. If for some odd reason unplugging the sender doesnt drop the needle then your gauge cluster has a malfunction.

thnaks, ima change all my fuses,relay and that temp. sensor. see what happens, thanks alot 2gnt ppl
