How difficult is it to replace the fuel filter? I never had to do it before so I don't want to cause any issues. I'm going to be moving up to Seattle Wa from Southern Ca this summer so I want to make sure my car is in excellent condition before driving. Also, is there anything else you recommend replacing while in that area?

its fairly straight forward and easy to do.
in a 99 yours is by the passenger rear wheel it has a bolt on either end and iirc a copper crush washer so dont loose those.
grab a rag to catch any dripping fuel and you good to go, as the filter is a whole assembly that is plug and play.

Just make sure you are careful when loosening the filter assembly. Give it plenty of support as the fuel lines are soft and can bend easily.

Do not reuse the copper crush washers. the new filter should come with new ones so you can lose the ones that are on the car all you want!

Great. I plan on getting this along with a lot of other things done this weekend. Man the support here is awesome!

Make sure you relieve the fuel pressure in the tank. Also, tighten the bolts up good when you put the new filter on. But be careful not to bend the lines like mentioned above. Start the car and check for leaks when you're done.
