the probe goes into the exhaust wherever you want to read the temperature from, it's kinda your choice.. if you are using it on a turbo and wondering if you are heating up your turbo to much.. i'd put it as close to the turbo as you can.. I even saw a guy that added the probe EGT hole into the turbo.. hehe.

If you try really hard, you could get that into a runner in a turbo manifold.
Anywhere that has a large selection of autometer gauges can get you one without the probe.. because when i was in the market, almost all of them came without a probe.

thats the pyrometer kit, which comes w/ the clamp on style probe. its a LOT cheaper, but not as fast acting.
the regular EGT gauges dont come with a probe, and the probe itself is another 60-160, depending on which probe and how long of a line you get. the gauge prices vary on what style.

I got mine from Summit.
Just go to Autometers website and get thepart number of the one without a probe. It's what I did and then I got a westach probe for it.
