right now im changing my timing belt and i replacing the oil pump at the same time. When I took my crank sprocket off, i accadently dropped it and chipped it, and just to be safe i ordered a new one. sure enough, the new one chipped on the outside edge (the little lip that keeps the t-belt from slipping off). now im wondering, does it really matter? Has anyone else said screw it and used the chipped sprocket without any problems? i really dont think it should be a big deal but maybe someone else knows better.

i have a chipped one as well.

as long as it's lust a small chip, i'd de-bur the chip edges and make sure it cant grab any part of the new t-belt and you should be golden.
