10888, Cam gears? Posted by guest, Dec-27-01 08:18 AM
Ok I bought SkunkWork cam gears about 9 months ago and haven't installed them yet because I was waiting to get all the internals done first. But now I have decided to just put them in....but now I relize that they might not fit. I went to Skunk2.com to see if they had an application for our car but they both were for the 4g63.....the question I have will they still fit....I should have looked into it before buying them but I got a good deal on them so I really didn't think about it. Shit I need help on this one badly.....Will they fit????? Or will I have to sell them to a 4g63 guy?????
oh yeah....they look exactly like the ones on Howells page for the Fidanza Engineering cam gears.....but red

I don't know for sure.. but I'm guessing they won't fit.. and you'll need to sell em to a 4g63 guy.
but i'm sure somebody around here knows more about it then me.
oh.. and even if they do fit.. that doesn't mean that they have the right amount of teeth on them.. which I'm sure as you know would make for some very bad results if you used them.

I put them up against someone i knows cam gear (they have a 97 GS) and they had the same amount of teeth....they almost looked alike. I couldn't see anything different thats why im curious.....

As far as I know, skunk2 doesn't make cam gears for our cars, so you better sell them. Don't use it no matter what unless you want to bend or break something. Try contacting skunk2 to make sure, and tell them you have a chrysler motor (not the nonturbo 4g63 that came in 1g's).
