108533, IAT sensor resistance? (NOT the @%#$!! mod) Posted by foggy45, Apr-28-08 05:01 PM
im trying to troubly shoot my CEL's and i keep coming up with: EGR flow failure (no worries as mine is blocked off) IAT temp high cylinder 4 misfire
ive been through 4 NEW sensors in the last month and with a new one, i reset the computer and all is well for a few days, then we start all over with high idle, rich gas smell from exhaust and lumpy idle. remove the sensor and test it and its bad. (some were even missing the black ball on the tip of the contacts) and yes i tested the new ones before they go in
now this motor is stock while im building my replacement, but i did leave on the 60mm TB and bored intake manifold incase this might cause people to think of a solution. oh and the wire harness *Looks* intact everywhere ive traced it.
does anybody know a "Nominal" resistance for the temp sensor so i can grab some resistors and pop them in there while i try and chase this down? no i'm not looking for the stupid +20 hp mod, just a regular 70* day resistance lol
or does anybody know a solution to this?
Thanks in advance.

make sure you dont have a short on the ECU wire. That would make the sensor a resistor to ground and cause it to fail pretty quick. As far as the resistance, I can check for you tomorrow if no one else does.
Edit: I had this posted elsewhere from a long time ago.
186 degrees F = 0830 Ohms 177 degrees F = 0953 Ohms 93 degrees F = 5850 Ohms 62 degrees F = 11030 Ohms 44 degrees F = 17940 Ohms

i HAVE THIS SAME PROBLEM. Did it do this before or after you took the EGR off?
