108466, 2.4 dumb question Posted by shybuck, Apr-21-08 12:02 PM
Does the year of the block matter at all? I have a 2.4 chrysler I got from a yard, but they dont know what car it came out of, or year. I have pics of it as well as the casting number. It doesnt say 2.4 on the valve cover, just on a sticker or the timing belt cover. The casting is 04781532ab. it says p04004523ab also on the sticker, next to were it says 2.4

You need a 2.4 from a 95-02 year car.
The crank sensor will be in the back of the block. 03+, the crank sensor will be in the front.

if it doesn't say 2.4 on the valve cover it's not a 2.4
this is probably a neon 2.0L engine that you have

I was wrong
it is a chrysler 2.4 2004 or 2005 that engine is made to run with the NGC ecu while our cars are using the SBC ecu
