108156, fuel pump doesn't cut off after a few seconds????
Posted by ecl98pse, Mar-20-08 04:16 AM
what would cause my fuel pump(walbro 255lph) to keep running when the key is in the on position but the car is not running? It used to run for a few seconds then shut off. It started this not long after the SAFC was installed, but i don't see how that has anything to do with it. I checked the relay, no fuel leaks, and put a diff. pump in. Does the fuel pump have a pressure switch or does the ecu cut power to it after a few seconds? anyone have any ideas?
thanks

The ECU should cut power to it after a short priming pulse.

Could be the relay sticking. next time it keeps running, go whack the relay with a screwdriver and see if it stops.

Replaced the relay and checked the 12v that feeds the coil in the relay and it stays on... So it looks like the ecu is not disconnecting power for some odd reason.
