I'm probably going to get flamed but oh well...

I was looking through the power stages and looked at some posts about first few mods, and now that I've completed all my maintenance and got my car running well again and I've completed the I/E/H start, so where should I go next? I was thinking along the lines of 60mm jeep TB, aftermarket intake mani, UDP, custom turbo kit (from scratch for <$1000) or 50-shot of spray. I don't wanna spend a bunch of money on fuel upgrades for a NA car with only a few mods (in my sig) or building the internals (although it'd be nice, but currently out of my budget) yet because my budget is kind of tight. Just looking for an inexpensive way to gain even a few ponies. It doesn't have to be alot, but if there is a way I'm all ears. Just something to take to the track this summer.

I'd say look into a UDP. But get other opinions first.

I think it's hard to say. Seeing as how you have a limited budget, if you can afford all the parts for the turbo setup (<$1,000), then I would go that route (with low boost of course 5-7 psi on stock internals).

On a low budget, I would NOT go turbo or nitrous. But if you think you may go turbo in the future when money allows, go with mods that you won't end up replacing. UDP was already said and is a good idea as well as a jeep throttle body, getting to the more expensive mods, an intake manifold by AMM (all metal mike) and getting to the more advanced, MSnS. All of these can be used with a turbo setup if you eventually have the budget to go that route.

You should have got a UDP when you had the block out Ben, woulda been an even easier upgrade at that point. Being on a budget, it's going to be really hard to upgrade anything honestly.

UDP, Jeep TB, GST exhaust upgrade are good starts.

Go with spray if you're only looking for a few ponies.

$15 to fill a 10lb bottle in most cases. Power when you need it, stock when you dont.

I'm going turbo VERY soon but with the rising costs of gas, putting 93 octane in my car is going to be painful. I dont have a choice, with nitrous, you do. Run 87 off the nitrous and a higher octane on.

Or you could go the all-motor route. Hi comp, 2.4/2.2L block..... Chase Mark down. He's a nut hair close to breaking into the 12's all motor on a 2gnt......

I ran out of money real fast when I had my block out last. Plus I was just looking to get it running, and now I am looking to upgrade that I got my stuff worked out. I might go with a UDP when I get some money real soon, and possibly spray when I get my rebate check. Thanks for all the advice!
