Well got to putting my bottom end together tonight so I looked at the article engine building for idiots. I cleaned everything up like it said and put a good amount of engine assembly lube on the crank and then a nice even coat of anaerobic around the bedplate sealing area. When I tightened it all up I saw a little assembly lube come out of the red circled areas. Will this affect the sealing? Because that assembly lube is basically oil, but I'm wondering will it still seal because the oil pump sits right on the front and should keep it all in I would think.

if you used the right Anarobic sealer (Loctite 518), the stuff coming out looks like sealent not assembly lube.
just wipe it off and your fine, since the stuff only seals in the ABSENCE of oxygen it will always remain a gel.

however if your assembly lube was red then i cant tell from the pics :(

Yes, it's red. I used the permatex anaerobic sealant. I already wiped it up, but it was assembly lube that came through that part where it seals with the block on the front half. I would think it would still seal because it shouldn't leak all the way through. Even if the front bearing is open there and is going to get all oily and the oil pump seals on the very outer edge so some oil should be in that area anyway, just not outside the pump.
