Howdy, y'all; finally in reassembly phase after replacement of the head gasket, timing belt, and coolant pump.

After eventually deducing that it's necessary to reinstall the engine mount bracket by rotating it ~180 and kinda rolling it anti-clockwise into position, am now installing the bolts. Lowering the engine by removing the front mount bolts under the front bumper did the trick for the lower bolt, but now can't install the firewall-side bolt, even though I was able to remove it by lifting the evap metal pipe to make clearance. Go figger.

What's the easiest way to do this?

Other than that, should be smooth sailing from here.

I usually put the bolt in the bracket first, then reinstall the bracket, and get creative with the raising and lowering of the engine. Beejn a while since i've done that on a 2.0L, so YMMV.

Thanx for your note, Dark1. I found a clever solution by searching previous posts, and that is to install the mount bracket and outer timing-belt cover at the same time. I inserted the firewall-side mount bolt into the mount bracket, raised the engine with my trusty floor jack as high as possible, and holding all three parts together with the bolt retracted about 1.5", just kinda slipped the assembly into place. Easy-breezy. The only caveat is to make sure that the firewall-side bolt doesn't catch above the t-belt when slipping the assembly into place. Takes no more than 10 minutes, including torqueing the bolts to spec.
