107154, Just replaced head, still no start...
Posted by discount_tyr420a, Dec-14-07 03:32 PM
I recently hydro locked... i redid the bottme end due to the bent, twisted and broken rod. Then no/ low compression.. so i had the intake valves redone and head serviced. now i turn over and it sounds like it wants to start but doesnt. checked timing... was dead on on the cams and half to one tooth off on the crank.

obvious things... spark- check, got that.... fuel- heres the problem, spits out fuel when cranking, but doesnt prime in the on position and has no pressure when i hit the release on the rail.

Help me!!! its been a year and a half with out a car and i'm finally so close i can taste it. should i replace the ECU, a relay, or what else?? i consult the gurus for the wisdom once again...

Try and temporarily run power straight from the battery to the fuel pump. You might have a bad rely that isn't letting the system get to the proper pressure in the fuel system.

My thoughts exactly. if you're far enough off, the ECU won't energize the fuel pump relay.

i had the same problem...i just replaced my head after a full rebuild and it wouldnt start. it sounded like it was going to kick over but i didnt. i guess it was the lifters, they werent primed with oil so it took a while for it to start. the car sat for a year before the rebuild.... so check the lifters cuz that could be your problem.
