107125, Found some new cams for cheap Posted by Hedge, Dec-12-07 11:49 AM
So i found some cams on a local classifieds site and sence i really dont like shipping anything and i can see what im buying in person its rare to come across parts for my car. I found some new crane cams for cheap but am worried that they are way to hardcore for my car, i really dont know much about cams so if you guys could help it would be great. Do these seem way to agressive for my engine, which is all stock internals(but ill be rebuilding soon) and just a CAI and exhaust (and maby a 50 shot next summer). Should i pick these up, or spend my money on something else that would be better band for the buck. I dont want my power band to be way up, and im afraid these will put it there.
Specs... 204/196 duration at .050 and 108 lobe seperation with 364/345 lift

The cams in the link are Crane 0014s (commonly called "14s"). They are a turbo grind, but there's nothing wrong with running them. You should probably step up to new springs with those guys. While you're at it, might as well consider lifters and rollers too.

You should have no problem with the 14's.

If you get them it wouldn't hurt to get some adjustable cam gears and go to a dyno to get maximum benefit of them.
