Ok I did some searching and found out one of the ways to prime your engine is to disconnect your relays and crank the engine over. Now here is the question...will a difference in temperature alter the procedure? For example, it is right around freezing here and i don't have any space to work on my car other than my driveway, so since it is cold out, is there anything that needs to be done differently (more time turning over the key etc.)? The complete block is assembled, the oil pump gears are lubed and the filter has oil in it, and it is all sitting in my engine bay. Any help would be great, thanks.

No difference, only I would put oil in it right before you prime it. Keep the oil warm in the house so it will flow through the engien a bit easier. As far as how long to crank it? Until oil pressure is established.

Thanks for the quick replay. Unfortunately I put the oil in it last night during my first attempt before I found out this morning my starter is shot, so hopefully that won't make too much difference. Thanks again man.

Watch for oil in the valve cover / cam area.
