Hay I found a belt driven Universal Super Charger and I got a few quick questions.

I got the height and width if anyboy's willing to measure and post if it will fit I'm on the road now so I can't check let me know and I'll post. :thumbsup

Do I need to tune the ecu for approx 5-7 lbs. of boost and does the ecu fight back and lose against the unit over time and then hafta be sent to a shop because it's fried?

And a guy told me that if I pulled the cable off the battery it will need to be tunned all over again is that also true?

I like the idea of the Super Charger becuse it's easy on easy off come smog time or untill I find a lood hole in the law (Which I'm sure there is just have not found it yet) just looking for a bit more performance not a VET killer V-TEC yes VET no. :)

And of course if this idea don't work well sad to say I'm throwing in the towel and buy another ride. :(

There are a couple pictures of a supercharged setup floating around, but why would you want to go through the time and trouble of making a supercharger work when there's so much more support for turbo setups?

Do they have a visual inspection that you're worried about smog? If so I still think you are going to waste a LOT more time getting a supercharger setup to work than pulling manifold/turbo/dp off and installing stock parts every time you have to go through smog

I looked at it and it's much easyier to get the SC off than the turbo.
And yes they have the visual but I can sheild the SC for roadside inspections.

You can shield a turbo too, and at least some dsms did come stock with a turbo, most cops aren't going to know whether yours did or didn't. Anyways if you're really interested in it, there are a few older threads on here discussing a supercharger setup, just gotta hunt around a bit

this is nothing new, Procharger has been making SC for years right along with paxton and vortech. All the head units are the same, the only thing that makes it universal is the fat it doesnt come with the brackets for a specific application. Good luck fitting it under the hood of your car without removing Power steering and A/C. I dont think you realize how big that type of charger is.

Your also going to have to have a custom crank pulley made since that type of supercharger requires a 6 rib belt if I recall. I cant remember what size belt was used on my z28.

The Super Charger was a good idea I guess till my dreams were shattered by reality that it won't work with out snatching everything under the hood to make it fit. :(

LOL, giving that one up is not easy but its not hard. Before you can that idea, find out how much a head unit is and the actual demensions of it and drive around one summer with no A/C. I have done it and its not that bad.

I never was a fan of the relocation style setup. you loose torque with all the areas of slippage. I am sure it works fine.

That picture has been floating around 420A circles for many years now. People debated on photoshop and legitimacy for a long time. IIRC I don't think any true details ever surfaced. I could be wrong though.

I think your right it does look fake! I see the braided line and just across the front of the chrome heat sheild that don't match quite well.
And that rod is crokked too it looks like they got that from that 3rd gen over at ripps.

Oh well at least I learned a lesson, Back to the drawing board! :)

$180 each. Make an adapter plate to mount one to the lower half of the stock intake manifold so that the blower feeds a smaller plenum and the pulley is on-axis with the alternator belt. Run a longer belt for the alternator and make a smaller bracket somewhere along that axis to mount an additional idler pulley to keep things taut. EDIT: Will it work? Probably. Will it work well? Only one way to find out, but I know this sort of set up works on a 4G63T with an 18G on it as well. 22psi from 2000-6000rpm and 450+ to all four wheels with a very rough tune.

Don't forget to install a FCD. All that nonsense about reprogramming the ECU or tuning it was nonsense from a retard who doesn't know shit. Ignore him in the future.
