106886, Fuel Gauge Quit Working!!!!!
Posted by Domestic Killer, Nov-19-07 03:07 AM
Ok I was driven around and my alternator belt shredded on me. It slapped around under the hood a couple of times. I knew it was the alternator belt because by battery light came on so I try to get home the back way and hit a big dip and bottomed out HARD when I looked at my gauges I seen my gas gauge dropping fast so I pulled over and there was no gas behind me or under me and I didn't smell any hint of gas. When I got back in and looked at it again it was all the way down like it was not getting power. I don’t know where to look so PLEASER HELP!!!!!!!

Thank You In Advance......

Sending unit is in the tank next to the fuel pump. Pull your back seat and make sure the electrical connections are still secure on the top of the tank. If you're lucky, you just had the sending unit connector come loose. If you're not lucky, you'll have to pull the pump and sending unit to inspect/replace as necessary.

Ok that will be easy to check when I get home sence I dont have a back seat. It is still pumping gas. Thats why I didn't know if when the belt broke if it slaped a line under the hood loose or if it was from me slaming the ground so hard...
