i plan on boostin. i've had it planned to run 9 to 1 pistons a 20g and a thicker head gasket and redo the head with basic stuff nothin to crazy with the exception of some turbo grind cams. my questoin is. since our motors were designed NA would our cylinder heads have smaller combustion chambers? to my knowledge the combustion chaber is the area between the piston head at TDC and the head. so would i need to have the head shaved out some to lower the compression in there or is it cool? i'm lookin at like 12-15psi on top of 9-1 pistons. i saw on RRE that the 4g63 guys go 9.1 - 1 cause of the hemi type cylinder head wouldn't that mean we could do that too? i mean i'll prolly do the long block first and that bottom end should keep some low end torque for me.

You would NOT shave the head to lower compression, this would raise compression.

If your running 9:1 and a gasket that brings you down to 8:1, that seems like plenty of space to me.
