Hey im doing a 2.4 swap and i just started to get some funds so im getting ready to start buying. I want to use srt-4 rotating assembly but i need a really good block. So i was wondering if you guys know where i can get a new or pristeen condition block? Thanks guys i've been looking for a while and nothings been coming up.

By the way, im trying to keep this build as cost efficient as possible, thats why i want srt-4 rotating assembly, but for the guys that have it done, can you tell me how the motor does without upgraded internals and if there are some other alternatives besides forging the motor. Im planning on running some nitrous, about a 100 shot so that should give you a good idea. thanks again

your not going to get a fairly new block for cheap. Any low mileage block is going tobe a full motor out of a wrecked car and you can expect to pay around 1000-3000.

Best way to find a 2.4L block, hit up the junkyard. I'm going this winter. I can't remember what year cloud cars you can get the block from. I'm sure somebody will jump in and shed some light.

You can spray a 100shot if you want. The SRT-4 assembly is pretty diesel. I hear somebody hit 502whp on a dyno with stock srt4 internals. I'm too lazy to find the link though. What oil pan/pump are you going with?

I was just about to post something similar since i am doing the swap. I'll have $5k to dump into my 2g HOPEFULLY very soon so i'm doing my shopping list.

I dont mean to hijack your thread but i need a few price quotes from fellow 2gnters/2.4L swappers.

I need a link to a site that sells NEW SRT-4 pistons/rods/locks/rings.

I also need a phone number/email/price for the guy on here who was offering to fab up 2.4L passenger mounts for our cars.

I'm stuck on this part of my list. Either post it here, pm me, whatever....

Thanks.

yeah look for "cododgeneon" on the org........ he did 502 whp and derrick (del98rt) did 501 whp on the stock srt internals. but they are using non turbo 2.4 blocks so they dont have to go with the ngc computer and all that crap. so to the OP........ just get a 2.4 block from a 95-99 stratus, caravan, breeze, etc and get the srt oiling and cooling system and the pistons and rod assemblies of course then u should be good to go........ i think the only thing u wont have that an srt 2.4 still would is the piston oil squirters.

dont forget you need to rotate the piston 180* on the rod for the oil passage.

as long as the exhaust ports are the same as the one on your car then u should be good (which should be 95-99 years). when the exhaust ports are rectangular is when there are differences down below also and u will have problems.

I found a set of srt4 pistons with rods and rings (never been used i guess, came out of a mopar shortblock) on ebay for 200 bucks. 24 dollars shipping.

Yeah, i know you gotta flip the piston on the rod.
