Ok, I just put in a new wiring harness for the engine. I needed to change the computer because where the bolt threads in was stripped out. So I put in the computer and also tucked the wiring harness. Now for the computer I have to enter the VIN number with a scan tool. My question is will this scan tool work? If not, does anyone know anything that would (not more than a couple hundred dollars).

nope, the scantool you need is vehicle specific (ie: mitsu/chrysler specific) like the shops use (read: very expensive), I believe that some of the programs that you can get to make laptops work as scantools might work as well but I haven't tried
