106333, Is it ok to combine spark plugs? Posted by mysteryclipse21, Sep-27-07 06:41 PM
In my car right now, I have 2 bkr7-es and 2 bkr6e-11s, both are gapped to specifically .030". My question is, is that ok to have in my car, or should I run all of the same type? I do run very rich, so should I just go all of them bkr6-es without the -11, and gapped to about .028-.031?
I am just wondering because recently I changed my plugs from this, to all of them bkr6-es, and my car began to run very weird in the upper RPM range in 2nd and 3rd gear, but the hour or 2 before I changed them, my car ran at honestly one of its finest it has ever ran, on the highway as well, very good in those 3rd gear freeway pulls. Now it studders somewhat after I took all those bkr6-es out even, and replaced it with what i had on the highway run (combo of bkr7-es and bkr6e-11s, but it runs like crap again... Let it be noted that the 2nd plug from the right does not go in as easy as all the other ones now, it almost feels like it gets stuck while turning it in the hole, and i don't want to cross-thread, that would be bad. So any advice, words of wisdom, and constructive criticism are appreciated.

Whatever heat range plug you go with they all need to be the same. Turbo - (4)BKR7E's - one range colder than stock N/A - (4)BKR6E's - stock or (4)BKR5E's - one range hotter Also get some of that anti-seize stuff to put on the threads of the plugs.

Plugs are so cheap, why not get all 4? They are about 5 bucks for all of them.
