10632, Spyder NT motor? Posted by PlayWithFire, Dec-21-01 01:23 PM
Ok, my friends mother just bought an eclipse, 97 spyder GS.
I know this is not the 420a, its a 4g6 something or other, but thats not the point :)
Is it any good to build all motor? Its about the same HP, right? I would think the 420a is better since I havent read much about all motor spyders, but I could just be looking in the wrong places.
It sure sounds nicer, but that could just be because of the exhaust thats on it, and it doesnt have that hissing that the 420a gets at higher RPMs.
Not that id be f***ing with my friends moms car, lol. But are the motors any good to upgrade, and can you even find aftermarket parts for them?

Its hard to fine performance parts for the 4g64 motor. Not many aftermaket companies make parts for them.

its a 4g64, and the 4g63 exhaust manifold bolts up to it ;)
turbo-time :)

the turbo mani bolts up to it and it's already using the stock turbo exhast system. plus it's a 2.4 litre that puts out like 160 stock. i'm sure you could do regualr bolt on mods like intake and cat back but if it will take a turbo exh. manifold you could put a 16g on it and stay at low boost.
